POPULAR DIVE REEFS Rappies Playstation 10m – 20m
This is an underwater fairy land, with deep gullies, caverns and awesome swim-throughs. Sheltered by a 10m high amphitheatre, this stunning site is home to Rappie, a 50kg Potato Bass, and his family. Rappie got his name due to a large Rapala hooked in his mouth. He is resident and is quite friendly. Kingfish are commonly seen here as well as sharks, mantas and morays. Minimum certificate : O.W. 1. Must have a minimum of 30 dives.
Manta Reef 12m – 21m
As its name implies, one stands a good chance of seeing Manta-Rays on this reef. The reef is also home to an abundance of fish species including Potato and Brindle Bass. Caves and deep gullies riddle the reef, which is quite extensive with some good drop offs. Gamefish and sharks are frequently seen here.
Robs Ridge 8m – 15m
This site consists of a ridge running parallel to the coast and is home to an amazing amount and variety of tropicals. The outside edge has numerous crevices and caves that are home to Moray’s and Skates. Kingfish and Couta are also seen here as well as the occasional shark. Coral, especially dishes, are abundant and diverse. This is a lovely drift dive where one can drift for up to 1km. Minimum certificate : O.W.1

Cyprus Ionian SeaThis is a site that Turtle Divers at Sempati Hotel took us to on several occasions. I prefer not to disclose the location in fear that fishermen will go after the groupers. As you can tell from this photo, they are very tame and unafraid of divers.

Maldives Indian Oceanwe were just starting to chill out after the 2 morning dives offf of our liveaboard dive boat in the maldives, when all of a sudden we heard the shout "whalesharkey, whalesharkey". We grabbed our mask snorkel and fins and jumped in. There were several other boats int he area and it seemed everyone had converged on this whale shark. One of the things Cathy Vhurch had taughtme was not to swim linear with marine animals, but in arcs. I separated from the pack andparalleled the whale shark, watching his pectoral fins. When I saw him dip his left pec fin I know he would be coming in my direction. I froze in the water, just barely breathing and when he approached, I was rewarded with this shot.

NetherlandsA wreck is laying here with the front into the shoreline. To the south there is a slope covered with stones. In the warmer months, specially during nightdives there is a lot of fish. Unfortenately the visibility gets very poor as the water is getting warmer. The best time to dive is spring when pike-perch is coming to spawn.

United States PacificAlways a favorite, Fantasy Reef is an East-West running reef off of Hawaii Kai and is routinely visited by some of the dive boats staging out of Koko Marina. Turtles are almost always present, and there are a couple of nice swim-throughs, White-tip Reef Sharks are common, in fact the last time we dove it there were three babies (about 2 ft each) under one of the ledges. If you have a sharp eye you may be able to find some Striped Pipefish. We've also had encounters with Eagle Rays and schools of Reef Squid.
