New Zealand PacificOne of the most spectacular dive sites in the Poor Knights, with a huge 8m wide arch in a promontory wall. Currents through the arch can be very strong so caution needs to be exercised here, especially as the arch is 40m deep. Wall is covered in colourful sponges and bryozoans, interspersed with yellow zoanthids, solitary hard corals, common and jewel anemones. The arch is noted for the large groups of Short-tailed Stingrays that gather in and around it. There are also large schools of Kingfish, Maomao, Butterfly Perch and Demoiselles. Perhaps you may also see a Giant Manta, as we did. Sea Temp 19c (Jan 2008)

Fiji PacificWall dives on both sides of the passage also home to Spot X and the Japanese Gardens.
This passage offers one of the finest dives in Fiji, abounding in pelagic and reef fish, sharks and coral gardens exploding with colour.
The passage can experience some strong currents and with little up or down movement however, the diver can get the real ‘superman’ flying experience.
This passage is a marine reserve.

Samoa PacificSituated at the North side of Nu’ula Island, it is a very interesting dive site with larger fish and varieties of coral and reliable good visibility. Topology consists of shelf like reef at around 15 meters and drops off to 40+ meters. Current can occur and creates a nice drift dive along the wall. When it comes to the end, we sometimes spot several sharks including white tips, black tips, grey reef and silver tips. Amazing soft corals and abundant fish life makes this site so special. Diving depth is between 15 - 30 meters. A 30 minute boat ride.

Samoa PacificThe only place in Samoa where diving in a VOLCAN CRATOR is reality! Located between the beautiful islands of Namua and Fanuatapu, this dive offers you exiting scenery, schools of reef fish, variety of Nudibranches, starfishes and an impressive wall covered with hard and soft corals. Juvenal turtles, eagle rays and white tip sharks are seen occasionally. Marvel at our ancient Christmas trees with Cleaning Shrimps surrounded by Trigger Fish, Red Snapper and other predatory reef dwellers. The wall drops to 22 meters. Go a bit deeper and you will encounter a big school of Barracudas. Definitely a must-dive in Samoa. This site is very suitable for snorkelling as well as its reef top is only a few meters deep. Visibility varies depending on weather conditions. Max depth 25 meters. A 15 minute boat ride.

IndonesiaThe dive sites around the three islands of Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan offer divers the widest possible range of experiences.
The dive site of Mangrove is a stunning shelving reef with healthy coral gardens stretching from just below the surface down to 30 metres. The fish life is rich and varied and the visibility can stretch to 30 metres or more.
Around the corner to the east, Ceningan Wall is an exciting drift with the bottom dropping away to 100 metres or more. The walls are alive with soft an hard corals and large palegics swim by in the depths.
Penida Bay, also known as Crystal Bay, is where the Mola Mola can be seen from July through until August. These majestic creatures come in to be cleaned by banner fish and other reef fish. They rest head up in the deep cool waters of the bay surounded by a cloud of bright fish which remove parasites from their skin. They allow divers to approach quite close and offer incredible photo oportunities.
Though the islands have a reputation for wild currents, there are dive operations that ensure the best possible diving conditions by diving with the rising tide and selecting suitable sites (there are 18 to choose from) with mild currents. Most of the dives are drift dives, so there is no need to struggle against the flow. Just allow the current to drift you along the reef and enjoy the show!

The team are great and they look after all your needs. Nitrox is also on hand. Check out their webpage.

Australia Coral SeaOsprey has plenty of diversity, hence a great name for our liveaboard, the "Diversity". Osprey has a dive site called "North Horn". Quite a number of shark species can be found at this site including white tip, black tip, and silver tip. A number of really large groupers were also present at this site, they were the Queensland grouper or Cod as they are called and they were in the 400lb. range and as we were at a shark feed they literally took some of the food away from the sharks. Also at this site it is reported that there is some nice size tree type of soft coral. Water temp was 82F, with about 80 ft. of viz.

Australia PacificThe Navy Pier at Exmouth is a must if you can only do a day or two. The only company with a licence for it is the one opposite the Tourist info office in Exmouth. I was a bit suspicious when they said that a pier dive was one of the best in Oz but it is a mindblow. Only 10-12m or so but more fish than I imagined possible, sharks, huge groupers, wobbegongs and dense packed shoals of many species.
UPDATE Kristin Anderson reports the Navy Pier at Exmouth has been closed to divers since 01 August 2006 and there are no plans to reopen it in the near future. We are hopeful that the Pier will be re-opened at some stage, but there's no information on that yet. Currently they are doing maintenance so it will likely be at least several more months before any decisions are even considered.

Barbados Caribbean Sea I have been to Barbados before and it really depends on where on the island
you want to dive. If you want to dive the North of the Island I can suggest
'Reefers & Wreckers'. The two guys who run that are called Mike and Philip.
If you want to dive the more popular South then there is a huge choice but I
have booked some diving with the BSAC dive shop there website the
guy is called John Moore. If you prefer a PADI dive shop then try
website and the guy to speak to there is Willie Hewitt
There is a BSAC club on the island and they have club dives every Sunday and
sometimes combine there dives with BADASS (Barbados American Divers
Association). The best person to contact regarding the BSAC Club is - Rob
Bateson (is click here to email )
If your into you're wrecks then you must do…
- Stavronikita
- Carlisle Bay

Maldives Indian OceanKaafu Atoll consists of four
geographical atolls;
North and South Male’ Atoll, Gaafaru and Kaashidhoo
Atolls . This collection of smaller atolls is located almost in the center of
the Maldives atoll chain. With 80 islands in all, only 12 are inhabited. Kaafu
Atoll is dotted with dive sites, many of them well known in the diving
community. Manta sightings, interesting reef formations, coral gardens and
wrecks are all part of the diving experience in these atolls.
The wreck of
the Maldives Victory , which sank on Friday the 13th 1981 near the airport

French Polynesia PacificThis dive is for the experienced diver only. The dive site is a narrow canyon where there are very strong currents. We went in when the tide was running in, found a place to hang on (making sure that all our kit was attached) and then photographed the thousands of grey reef sharks that seemed to be just hanging in the current.
