Australia Tasman SeaOne main gutter with several smaller gutters and bommies. It is part of the Port Stephens - Great Lakes Marine Park, and is classified as a general purpose zone (fishing is allowed). Its not uncommon to see sharks with fish hooks in their mouth or line comng from the mouth. The main gutter runs almost in a North/South direction. At the southern end of the gutter is where you can find large schools of baitfish and this is where the sharks are in greatest numbers. In years gone by the sharks would be here from Feb to May, but in the last 2 - 3 years they have been here on nearly every day that we have been here/

Philippines Philippine SeaCan only be reached by Pump Boat from Dumaguete or nearby towns. We stayed at Atmosphere resort, where a 40 min trip led us to a very different underwater world, compared to the muck diving along the nearby coast. A lot of backpackers tend to stay on the island.
Underwater there is the most beautiful unspoilt coral and more turtles than you could possibly dream of.
Apo Island is a volcanic island covering 12 hectares in land area, 7 kilometers off the southeastern tip of Negros Island and 30 kilometers south of the Negros Oriental capital of Dumaguete City in the Philippines. The name "Apo" was derived from the a Filipino word which literally means, "Grandchild".
The marine habitat around the island is a marine reserve, protected by the National Integrated Protected Area Act (NIPA) and under the jurisdiction of the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB). It has become a popular dive site and snorkeling destination with tourists. There are two resorts on Apo Island, both of which have their own dive centers: Apo Island Beach Resort and Liberty's Lodge. There is a ranger station and a lighthouse.
The religious practice of Apo Island is generally Roman Catholic under the care of the Augustinian Recollect Friars.Formerly, it was administered by a Diocesan Priest but it was in 2008 that the Augustinian Recollects was requested to continue the mission. The patron saint of Apo Island is San Vicente Ferrer.
The island is under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Dauin, Negros Oriental, and is one of the municipality's 23 barangays. As of the 2010 census, the island has a population of 918.

Australia Tasman SeaFly Point is located in Nelson Bay inside the large port of Port Stephens on the east coast of Australia. Nelson Bay is 2.5 - 3 hours drive north of Sydney.
Fly point is mainly a macro dive site with over 100 different species of nudibranch have been reported here. It is in a sanctuary (no take) zone in the Port Stephens - Great Lakes Marine Park. Maximum depth is close to 30m but most of the photography subjects are in the 5 - 12m range. There is a huge sponge garden which would take many dives to explore properly. It is also the starting point for our drift dive, which exits at another divesite called the Pipeline.
