Turkey Mediterranean SeaThis is a popular shore dive site. During they day there is not much life to be seen and it is used mainly as a training site because of a small protected rocky bay, easy entry and exit, and fair visibility. However, if you can find a Turkish guide to take you at night (required by Turkish law), then you are bound to see lots of interesting life. The dive starts in a rocky bowl, and you can go out to a mini wall that drops to a sandy bottom. We have seen large squid, octopi, flatworms, various nudibranchs, sleeping fish, multiple crabs, Spanish lobster, anemones, etc... Depths range from 8 feet to 50 feet. There is a small dive facility at White Cliffs, but I have never used it.

Canada Atlantic (North American coastal)Lost in 1942 the Kolkhosnik was carrying war supplies destined for the port of Archangel. The official cause of the sinking is "U-boat activity" however, it is locally believed that the vessel struck Smithson Rock. The vessel was commercially salvaged for its cargo of nickel ingots, a few of which remain scattered around the wreck site. The other pieces of cargo such as tanks, barb wire, telephone cable and jeep parts had no value and were simply tossed aside by salvors. The wreck is one of the most popular among the local wreck/technical divers in Halifax. The depth (from 130 to 150 feet), water temperature and tidal conditions can make this a demanding dive. Careful planning and plan adherence are required.

United States PacificGreat cold water diving. Must have a light and be advanced diver to dive this area. Neah Bay is one of Washington states best dive areas and Curley's Resort and dive center in Sekiu is a full service dive shop. I have see whales, wolf fish, basket stars, nudibranchs and the list go's on. The water is cold so if you have a dry suit us it, and the vis can be as good as 60+ feet. I have over 600 dives in this area and I must say it's some of the best diving anywhere.
