There are locations in the world that are uniquely suited to one species above all others. Coral Reef has perfect conditions for the brittlestar, Ophiothrix spiculata. The foot of this rocky wall is completely covered by them. In contrast to smaller populations elsewhere in Southern California, the individuals here exhibit a variety of color schemes. Perhaps they lack a visual predator that is present at other sites. Whatever the case; this is one dive that should be at the top of every world traveler's to do list.

Ginnie Springs is a privately owned campground that affords shore access to the Devil's Cave System on the Santa Fe River, near High Springs, Florida. Devil's Cave is an extensive network of submerged cave passage. It is clear year round with crystal clear 72 degree F water. In the winter time, manatees can be found near the spring openings where they seek the warm water discharge.

There are ledges and rocks off of Boynton Beach, Fl where you can swim out and snorkel and see a variey of sealife. I have seen Eagle rays, Hawksbill turtles, French Angel, tangs, Moray, lobster etc

Great site , shore diveable during very calm conditions. This is a harbor and care should be taken when diving around boats. Manta ray night dive started here... just in front of the Keauhou Sheraton, used to be the old Kona Surf Resort.
