The wreck is a twin engine landing craft used by Vietnamese refugees in the late 1970's. It sunk upside down on a sandy bottom at 22m. Their is a mooring line attached to the stern which makes a good descent/ascent line and it's needed if you are diving the wreck in anything other than slack as the current can be quite strong here. Even with a slight current it is still possible to dive the wreck on the lee side. The top of the wreck is covered in a mass of soft corals and is a good area to spend some time in once you have been around the wreck, which wont take long as it's quite small. There are also some small pieces of wreckage in the sand a few metres from the stern and these seem to attract huge Stonefish and Puffers.

The dive site consists of two large boulder rocks placed side by side. In the narrow gap between them you can find Hinge-Beak Shrimp and Cleaner Pipefish (Dunckerocampus janssi). The visibility can be poor here so it's really a site for small macro critters. I doesn't take long to go around the rocks, so if you want you can head West and cross over to the "Shark Point" dive site. Sea temp in May is 29c

Take your time, they are there. look for one or two of them with a touch of yellow in the fin, that means the school is near. Go to the point and off about 25 yards into the blue and have a look come back and then wind around the point and keep looking.

Dive site is close to Long Beach on Perhentian Kecil and can be done as shore dive from there if you are prepared for a long swim of about 75m. The coral reef fringes the rocky outcrops from the island and leads down to a boulder reef and sandy area at a depth of 17m. To get out to this area it's probably best done as boat dive.Sea Temp 29c in May.

As the name suggests, this site has a small lighthouse on top of a long narrow but shallow reef. The reef itself is quite large and has a variety of habitats. Under the legs of the lighthouse it is only 4 metres to the top of the reef. The coral here is in excellent condition and therefore popular with snorkelers during the day, but it also is the hang out for small shoals of fish and makes an excellent safety stop after the dive. Going West from the lighthouse and dropping off the coral takes you to a whip garden at a depth of 12 to 14 metres and a good spot to find Whip Gobies. Look out for the grumpy Titan Triggerfish that patrols this area. I think it's best to dive this site as a twilight dive as the sun is going down and catch the dramatic light as it shines through the legs of the lighthouse. Lots of Anemonefish and colourful coral here. Sea Temp 29c in May

The dive site consists of a long line of tangled rope, probably old fishing equipment. Sandy bottom with the rope acting as shelter for marine life. Nearby there are some seafans that usually have false cowries (Phenacovolva sp.) on them. Rare forms of nudibranchs such as Bornella stellifer and Thecacera pennigera are crawling around. Some large Map Puffers (Arothron mappa) choose to rest here and there is supposed to be a Frogfish near the seafans, but we didn't find him. Sea Temp in May 29c For dive site photos click here

The dive site is a large pinnacle sea mount, the tip of which protrudes from the sea. The base of the mount is around 24 metres where you can find Nurse Sharks and Blue-Spotted Ribbontail Rays resting under coral during the day. There is a shelf at about 12 metres which is covered in anemones and soft corals. Schools of Bigeye Snapper hang around the North side with Yellowtail Barracuda patrolling nearby. The currents can be strong here, but you can usually shelter on the leeside, if it's not possible to go completely around. It is a very popular dive site and usually has 5 to 6 boats on it in the morning, so it can get a bit congested with dive groups. Late afternoon is usually best for avoiding the crowds.
