Very nice healthy reef and wall dive. Abundant marine life. Dive operations on Curacao strive to protect the reefs and act very professionally. We have made many dives through out the caribbean and I think this was the healthest I have seen.

Windsock is near the airport and is one of the easiest shore dive entries/exits in Bonaire. Park on the road near the jetty where the tugs sometimes tie up. There is a cut in the rocks (which are very small anyway), and you can just walk in and out over a fairly smooth sandy bottom. Distance to drop off is not long. Some interesting pictures can be obtained around the jetty and there is macro life throughout the dive. This is the site where I found an apparently rare (and even more rarely photographed), swollen claw mantis shrimp.

Great site for both diving and snorkeling. The sunken tug boat after which the site is names, sits in only 15ft. of water so is accessible to snorklers. For a great dive, drive one car to "Directors Bay", which is about 5mins away in the car, and drift with the prevailing current around the coast ending up back at the "Tug Boat". Then get a lift to go pick up your car.

Drive and Dive around Curacao in February 2008. Excellent diving and an abundance of underwater wildlife to see/explore. After having dove BonAire in 2007, I'd recommend Curacao for those wanting more diversity (i.e., night life and other forms of entertainment), while BonAire is better suited to strictly diving, whereas alternative activities are few/far between. Regardless, both offer drive and dive packages, hence if you've tried/tired of the cattle-boat dive trips, or the weakest-link in the chain type guided tours, I can guarantee you'll love the freedom and pace of setting your own agenda!

The diving operator was "the Yellow Submarine " . I did 10 dives in 4 days of which 8 were with Nitrox (32 EAN) . I had good diving expirence except for the last day dives that the boat boat was too small to navigate with 16 persons. I only felt little concern for the camera and strobe set ups since they did not provide an extra bucket. There were 3 divers including my self expensive camera set ups. Anyway, I did not feel we had any dangerous situation since the boat ride from the main Island to Kline Bonaire was short.

Nice place for under water macro photography which doest requieres long boats ride to the dive site. Also most dive sites can be reached from shore do not require swiming of longdistances. Also, topside ecotourism is very good.

The east point of Curacao can only be reached by boat, and because of this the reefs are in excellent condition. As the tip of "East Point" is exposed to the open sea and prevailing winds the current can be quite strong, which is perfect for drift diving. Also due to these stronger currents the animals found here tend to be larger than those seen on the south coast of Curacao. To reach the best dive spots takes about 1.5 hrs. in a boat from "Spanish Water" on the south coast. Currently the only operator making these trips on a regular basis is "Dive Charter Curacao", who also do trips to the "North Shore" and "West Point", for more information go to click here
