This reef was given the name Danger Reef due to the large amounts of sharks frequent to this site. To dive with sharks are okay, but what if its sharks that aint so friendly? This is what you will encounter here. Despite the "friendly" sharks, this is a relatively easy and shallow dive, suitable for all level divers. Just make sure to keep a good distance between you and the sharks. Beautiful bottom topography.

The David Tucker wreck sits at approx. 45 feet. We went with Stuart Cove's scuba as this was the excursion offered by the cruise line. Haven't done much scuba in the Bahamas (in fact this was my first time there in over 25 years) so can't honestly compare this to other Bahamas dive sites. All I can compare this to is other dive sites not in Bahamas, and if so, I would rate this as fair to good, but certainly not spectacular. I do want to say however that the staff at Stuart Cove's scuba was very professional. They have a large operation, with many boats and busses, and did a very good job getting everyone on and off the boat safely, provided transportation to and from the pier (or hotel), had good working radios, O2, etc., on each of the boats, so if I was going to return to Nassau, would not hesitate to use them again. My dissatisfaction was that only having 50 feet visibility, but that probably had more to the time of year, time of day, weather, etc. (in all fairness, there was hurricane several weeks back), than the particular dive site.

For wall diving, not for beginners. Great diving, vis 75-100 feet, great swim-thrus. Resort located near marina. Price inclusive of food which is not fancy, but very good. Get up for 7:30 breakfast, at boat at 8:30 for 2 morning dives, return for lunch, back to boat at 2:30, return about 4. Room had enough space to clean and take care of camera, boat had large container for camera, place to rinse and hang equipment after daily dives. One night dive a week. House reef not really close, but diving off boat was always pretty close. Bahamas suffering from infestation of lionfish, so DM's were spearing them all they could. This brings in marine life to feed off spears - sharks, groupers. Saw sharks every dive but one. Saw hammerheads - scalloped & smooth. Saw lots of macro - reef bleaching of 90's is almost gone. Wonderful place to dive, should be on every divers "wish list".
