Great dive site North of the Island behind the airport. Better when done as a drift dive because there could be some current. Visibility is usually great and the site is also kown as the "white valey" because of a large band of sand t 100ft, and going down very quickly. There main interest is a coral platform at 8Oft where you can sight sea turtles feading sponges, school of baracuda, tunas and some pelagic surprises as dolphins, hammer head shark, or marlin. At the end of the dive, it could be usefull to swim West close to the reef (40-60ft) and try to reach the resident school of jack fishes. Of course the main attraction of the dive site are the Grey reef sharks. The challenge is to attract them inside the school of jack fishes and enjoy the spectacle (see my pictures). A "not to miss" if you come scubadiving at Borabora.

this dive is amazing. starting outside the pass (during the incoming tide) the zodiac drops you into the blue. by the time you meet up with your buddies under the boat, the sharks are already arriving, usually oceanic silvertips, silkeys and reef. dropping down to about 40 metres you will probably see a great hammerhead or two cruising the outer edges of the pass , usually they trail the large schools of eagle rays that cruise the area. if the visability is good you'll be able to see literally hundreds of sharks circling a submerged seamount below you. catching the tide you'll pick up speed as you "fly" through the pass , as hundreds of barracuda, the resident dolphins and some really big mantas glide past. ducking into one of the small caves is a great way to get out of the current and watch the amazing show , its also where you'll find the "sleeping" sharks . as you drift through the pass you'll be gradually getting shallower until you arrive in the lagoon and the end of an amazing ride . and like all great rides the first thing you want to do when its over is do it again.

A short Zodiac ride gets you to the site where there are Turtles, dolphins, and very boring coral (very dull). The exciting part of this dive is the many grey sharks that are being hunted by the resident hammerhead and tiger shark.

This dive is for the experienced diver only. The dive site is a narrow canyon where there are very strong currents. We went in when the tide was running in, found a place to hang on (making sure that all our kit was attached) and then photographed the thousands of grey reef sharks that seemed to be just hanging in the current.
