Baby Star on Star- who knew?
Two weeks ago we saw some Stars spawning.
Mystique.....
Might he have thought that he was wearing his orange outfit?
Oddly, ran across this guy on the same dive as with the pink one - the only dive at the bridge on which I've found *any* froggies.
Turtle over/under, taken with Canon 20D W/10-22 MM lens in 8" dome port.
Runner Up - worthy of note but not a medal winner - an equal 4th place if you like! Runner Up 2011

Final RoundThrough to 2011 awards final round judging
They seem to generally be shy about showing their pretty "suckers". . .
Sailfin Blenny in full sail.
Flying Gurnard. I just love that these guys have little hands, evidence of evolution.. just can't tell if they are preparing to go back to land, or re-indoctrinating to the marine world.
Angel Face
I fumbled around in a panic when he yawned (belched?) and only got one shot off. I'd *still* love to shoot a sailfin blenny some day, but nobody'll show me one. . . :-)
Chromadoris binza laying her eggs..
Mama GPO on eggs about 130' in Puget Sound...
Not the most colorful of seahorses, but a spot or two of color here and there.
An issue, sometimes, with diving at BHB, is that it can be difficult to get the banded coral shrimp and yellowline arrow crabs to stay out of the way. . .
Keeping an eye out
Pair of fours
Like a Brooklyn rooftop. Mystery reef at BHB.
Caught my reflection in the eye of this squid that hung around on a night dive at Flower Gardens, Riviera Beach, Florida
Haven't been able to learn what the little critter crawling on this Scaly-tailed Mantis's antenna is, but, from some of the other photos of the same subject, the dark spot on the smaller critter's right side appears to be moving around, too.
Jawfish with eggs about to hatch
shortlistedShortlisted!
I jus t love the translusence and the layer of the different anemone and feather dusters on top of each other.
I suspect that I'll never find one of these guys with eggs in his mouth. In the mean time, I'll practice.
A very lucky shot. The second one appeared for only a very short period of time.
Mosaic tile cleaner (?) on Lauderdale By the Sea shore dive back in May.

Jellies!
One of the cutest octopus I've had pleasure of meeting.
1st time I've photogrphd a juv. Flabellina-only 1 juvenile in this image, with two rhinophores -on the rt, orange base and white tips, smaller than the cerata. Then two oral tentacles, longer, mostly white with ridges and a bit of clear base.
