Member since: Wednesday, July 1, 2015 | Although I grew up in and around the ocean in Massachusetts and have a degree in marine biology, I have now called landlocked Gainesville, Florida home since 2012. Since moving south, I have fallen in love with the freshwater springs - I spend every spare minute free diving or cave diving and taking photos that I hope connect Floridians to their beautiful but threatened freshwater resources. I am a PhD student at the University of Florida, studying ecology and journalism; my dissertation blends art, science, and writing to raise awareness about our springs.
