Member since: Friday, June 19, 2009 | I love underwater photography and have actually been certified as an Underwater Digital Photographer by a real pro, Christa Waller Loustalot. She tends to introduce me to other pros as “this is Paul, he’s still a point and shoot, but he’s all right.” Nice. I’ve been using a Sony DSC-P150 in an Ikelite housing with DS-51 sub-strobe and manual controller for the last few years and have been happy, but I suspect I’m growing beyond those limitations. What to do?
With this rig, I realize that I miss many opportunities for both macro and wide angle shots. Couldn’t quite get the nudibranchs in Palau as clearly as I’d like or do as well with the whale sharks and hammerheads in Galapagos or Cocos. So… with a return trip to Cocos Island (Costa Rica) and then to North Sulawesi (Indonesia) planned between now and the end of this year I really want to upgrade and I’m not sure where or what to do…
