South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands Antarctic (Southern Ocean)One of my favorite dive sites at South Georgia. A vertical rock wall drops to over 25M, sheltered by Macrocystis kelp and heavily encrusted with sponges and bryozoans. A great place to look for nudibranchs and pycnogonids. Water temperature is usually around 33-35F (0.5-1.5C) in November and February.

South Africa Indian OceanThis dive is led by a professional Natal Sharks Board sharkdiver DM.
The female raggies circle this reef durign their gestation period.
The depth of the reef is around 18m
Other large types often spotted in this area include guitar sharks, Manta Rays and other rays

Svalbard and Jan Mayen Islands ArcticThis site is outside the westernmost sill in Hornsund, so it often has decent visibility and hosts a marine community more typical of the outer coast of western Spitsbergen than the fjord waters to the east. A steep shelving rock wall, mostly covered in a dense growth of Laminaria hyperborea, drops to a coarse sandy bottom at about 80 feet. Water temperature typically about 35F (2C) in July and August. Often a great site for zooplankton like pteropods, ctenophores and larvaceans.

PhilippinesThis is the first sanctuary on the beautifull Apo Island. A very easy dive that starts on a gentle slop and ends in a wall. Lots of soft and hard corals, an abundance of small reef fish and the occasional turtle can be seen here. At the shallow end there are hundreds of clownfish in their anemones that seem to come out of every rock and coral, they call this area clownfish city.

Honduras Caribbean SeaThis is a dramatic site with two walls. The first one ends in a sand patch at approximately 90 feet. The second goes well beyond the recreational dive limits. Fish and corals are plentiful here, and the top of the reef features a sand patch that is good for open water classes. Rays and turtles are often seen here. Unfortunately, we saw three lion fish here yesterday (November 2009).
